Professor Anthony Heath
Director of the Centre for Social Investigation, Nuffield College
Professor Anthony Heath CBE is currently Director of the Centre for Social Investigation, Nuffield College, Oxford and Professor of Sociology, Institute of Social Change at the University of Manchester. He is author of numerous books and articles on social stratification, British politics and on ethnicity, including his most recent book titled Unequal Attainments: Ethnic Educational Inequalities in Ten Western Countries (Proceedings of the British Academy 196). He is a Fellow of the British Academy and was co-Director of the 1983-1997 British Election Studies (including the 1997 Ethnic Minority Study and the 2010 Ethnic Minority British Election Study). He is a member of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills’ Equalities Advisory Group.
