Professor Emilio Reyneri
Emeritus Professor of Sociology of Work
Professor Emilio Reyneri is Emeritus Professor of Sociology of Work at the Department of Sociology and Social Research, University of Milan Bicocca, after having been full professor from 1980 to 2013. For years he taught at the Universities of Parma and Catania.
From 1992 to 1995 he was member of the Management Committee of the Program EC-COST A/2 “Migration” and from 1998 to 2001 member of the Committee for policies for integrating immigrants appointed by the Italian Government.
His main topics of research are labour market, labour policies and migration. From 1996 to 1999 he was the European co-ordinator of a EU-TSER project on “Migrants’ insertion in the informal economy, deviant behaviour and the impact on receiving societies”. From 2005 to 2010 he was member of the Governing Council of the Network of excellence EQUALSOC (Economic Change, Quality of life and Social Cohesion). Since 2011 he was appointed by Istat (the Italian Institute of Statistics) in a Scientific Commission for measuring well-being.
His publications include 19 books, 14 articles in international journals, 44 articles in Italian journals, 15 chapters in English, French and Spanish books and 71 chapters in Italian books.
