Yasemin is currently leading two international collaborative projects: a)  “Bright Futures”: A Comparative Study of Internally and Internationally Mobile Chinese Higher Education Students (funded by the Economic and Social Research Council of the UK, the German Science Foundation, and the Chinese National Science Foundation); b) Asian Educational Mobilities: A Comparative Study of International Migration of Japanese and Chinese Higher Education Students (funded by the Economic and Social Research Council of the UK and the German Science Foundation; ORA scheme).

She is also conducting research on the internationalization of higher education utilizing web-based data-mining techniques (funded by the British Academy/Leverhulme small research grant).
